Yesterday, this was the view from my window. This afternoon, it was basically the same. My thoughts seem to be sprinkling all over the place without a clear word in the clouds above …so I thought I’d share some clear thoughts from others who have inspired me today. Enjoy the weekend reading and I hope it brings as much life to you as it has to me.
#1. Our daughter, Carrye Burr, hosts a “Friend Post Friday” on her blog, Less to be More. This week, Audrey Beatty wrote a great post about being perfect …uhhh…well, you really need to read it. It’s freeing and challenging all at the same time.
“This incredibly awkward, uncomfortable space is exactly where I’m supposed to be. This is perfect.” Audrey Beatty (Perfect –Friend Post Friday #4 — Less to be More)
#2. And, if you’re looking for a great summer book study, our daughter, Carrye Burr, is hosting an online study based on her book, Gray Faith — published one year ago this month! Happy book-iversary!
“Understanding and finding more of God is a process, and we need to give ourselves permission to seek God where our answers seem to run out, where our expectations aren’t quite met, where we can simply be our honest selves…If you’re looking to step out and meet God in the middle of real life and mess and questions this summer, I invite you to join me for an online “Gray Faith” book study this summer starting Monday June 26th!!” (Carrye Burr)
#3. And finally … you may remember a recent post about finding life at church in which I shared this quote from my husband: “We must not shape God into an image of our liking, but we must allow the reality of God to reshape us.” (Roger Martin) I thought you might like to watch the entire message on video to get the full impact of this quote. Enjoy these life-giving words in your weekend pondering …
